Caterpillars and Butterflies

Before you ever learned to walk, you had to once crawl. Although many of us have reached adulthood, a number of us are still stuck in the infancy stage. Some are fearful of getting up, because they don’t know whether they’ll stand or fall. Others are simply lazy, and don’t want anything out of life, except to depend upon others. As a result of their unwillingness to change, they go the rest of their lives living as caterpillars.

On the other hand, you have those that are ambitious, motivated and driven, so it’s only natural that they try to walk before they crawl. They don’t sit around waiting for handouts or others to do anything for them, because they are determined to do it for themselves. Crawling is not an option for them, because they’ve learned that all they have to do is embrace change, and they’ll be able to stretch their wings and fly. I love these type of people, because they are my butterflies.

Are you a caterpillar or a butterfly? Are you still crawling or have you decided to fly? Everyone will experience some type of change, but are you willing to embrace it, or remain the same?

Until next time my NOTE takers!

I used to love you, but…..

I used to love you, but…’ve changed!

I’m not saying that isn’t a good thing, but it just isn’t good for me

You’ve taken away all of my benefits and have left me to fend for myself

Now who am I going to use?

I can’t make it without you, and even if I tried, it just wouldn’t be the same

You covered me, had my back and put me in a position to win

But, ever since you walked away, I’ve done nothing but lose

There’s no way I can make a comeback unless you come back!

So what? You’re just gonna leave me hanging like that?

You think you’re better than me now?

Well, before you go putting your head in the clouds

Just remember, I know who you are

You can run all you’d like, but you can never get away from me

How dare you try to change, when we’ve been together for so long?

What is it? Am I not good enough for you now?

It’s funny what change will do to you, but that’s okay, because I don’t need you anyway!

Go ahead and have your fun, but I wouldn’t get too comfortable if I were you

When you find out things aren’t all you thought they’d be, you’ll be back

And I’ll be right here waiting

Sometimes it can be hard to change, especially when you are so used to being a certain way. You want to grow and get better, but a lot of times, you get in your own way. You’ll sabotage your growth, because even you aren’t comfortable with who you’re becoming. It’s okay to change, but don’t allow who you used to be, keep you from who you’re supposed to be!

Just “Ripe” (You’ve been planted) The Conclusion

Now is the time to reap the harvest! You have blossomed into what God has created you to be! You should be very appreciative that He made you “take the scenic” route, and didn’t allow you to take any shortcuts. Had you taken the “quick and easy” route, you may have not ended up at your final destination. There were many snares (people) set in place to create a diversion, because they know the power you possess. However, thanks be to Him for always keeping you on track!

I know you didn’t understand it, nor liked it, and probably questioned His reason for doing, but aren’t you glad He kept you? Just imagine what would’ve happened, had He “picked” you up well before the harvest. What do you believe you would’ve looked like? Do you suppose you would’ve been as strong as you are now? Better yet, would you have been able to endure people trying to plant weeds around you, so they can “kill” you off, well before you even sprout?

NOW do you understand why it simply wasn’t your time? Oh, but the time is now! You are just “ripe” (right), and God is about to “uproot” you, so the whole world can see what He has done! You were created on purpose, for a purpose, and all that you went through was a part of His purpose!

The Emergence (You’ve been planted) Pt. IV

It’s exposure time! You’ve been planted, watered and nurtured, now it’s time for you to rise and start the process of becoming exactly what you were created to do….BLOSSOM! You’re in God’s garden, planted amongst some of His finest creations! Everyone is looking at you and admiring your beauty, because they’ve never seen anything like you before. You’re unique, radiant, beautiful to say the least, and you possess something no other flower has.

Sure, we’re all created in the likeness of His image, but your image is different. In fact, it’s so different, the rest of the flowers (people) are asking why their seed wasn’t as powerful as yours. Comparison and jealousy at its finest! However, because no two flowers are alike, they won’t ever look the same as you, let alone compete with your strength and ability to shine. There was a reason you were buried…..There was a reason you were hidden….There was a reason you had to go through this lengthy, yet necessary process. There was a reason for it ALL! He knew your worth, but I don’t think you did. Therefore, He had to give you time to make sure you grew into what He created you to be.

A lot of times we try to rush God, because we feel as though He’s taking too long to get us to where we want to be, when essentially, it’s not where He wants us to be. We adopt the “I’ll take it from here attitude”, and do what we feel is best for us, knowing very well, without Him, we’d get nowhere. As a result of our stubbornness, we become stagnant and then wonder why we’re stuck and can’t go any further. Because of His omniscience, He places us in a position of uncomfortableness, which leaves us with no choice but to trust Him. Keep following Him, and you’ll be amazed at your evolution!

Now that you’ve endured the darkness, grew in the midst of what seemed to be an unbearable and uncomfortable situation, you have arisen and are well on your way out. We see you, and what a beautiful site to see!

Until next my NOTE takers!

Wait! You’re not finished yet! (You’ve been planted) Pt. III

“I see leaves”! Beautiful, shiny, waxy, bright green leaves! However, there are no petals attached. You’re almost out, but things aren’t quite “rosy” yet. You’ve made progress for sure, but something’s still missing….nurturing. You were given something very powerful, but because of your negligence, you can’t come to full term!

“But, I’ve watered it”? So you keep saying, but it’s going to take more than water for you to come to life. Have you ever considered your “growth” may be stagnant, as a result of your inattentiveness and lack of care? Like many others, I’m pretty sure you thought you were just going to drop a few specks of “water” on your seed, come back in a few days and expect to see flowers. Sorry, but growth doesn’t work like that!

You’ve got to go through a nurturing process, and if you don’t know anything about agriculture, understand this, water alone won’t cause anything to grow! Talk to your seed (yourself)…show it love and speak its existence, “into existence”. Come on now, you can’t expect Him to do all the work! Besides, He planted you, but if you don’t want to experience growth, a seed you shall remain!

It’s dark, you’re lonely and scared, probably frustrated too, but you’ve got to remain put! Just think, you started out as a tiny seed, now look how far you’ve come “from the ground” up! Your roots are strong, leaves have been established, but you’ve still got quite a ways to go. No doubt about it, you’re gonna bloom, but you’re still not ready yet! Stay grounded for just a little while longer…I promise you, you’re going to emerge soon!

Until next time my NOTE takers!

Watering required (You’ve been planted) Pt. II

You’ve been hidden for quite some time, and His process is taking a little longer than you anticipated, and now you’re beyond ready to come out. However, you’ve still yet to evolve. There’s no visible change and it seems you’ve sunken down further than when you were buried. What…is….going….on? Though not 100% for certain, if I had to take a wild guess, your unwillingness to mature, is probably due to a lack of “water” (effort).

So, you thought because you were buried, you were just going to miraculously sprout up, with no “watering” involved? In fact, that’s why so many of us stay submerged for so long, because no one wants to put in the work needed to reach their full potential. God gave you the blueprint, but it’s up to you to build it! You can’t even go through the proper stages of photosynthesis, because you’re shunning yourself from the very “SON”light you need!

Growth is a process, but as long as you remain where you are, you’re never going to blossom! Use what you have to get what you want, but don’t expect to reap the harvest, when you are too lazy to water your own seed. Stop rushing and enjoy the process. I guarantee you, once it’s over and done, you’ll fully appreciate the reason He took His time to create you!

Until next time my NOTE takers!

Buried Seed (You’ve been planted) Pt. I

It’s dark, cold, wet and you don’t know where you are. You turn to your right, then left, but no matter which direction you go, you can’t escape the blackness that surrounds you. That clammy, gritty substance you feel, is a result of the soil you’ve been submerged in. Panic and anxiety creeps in, because you’re at the bottom of the ground, and you don’t see an opening in site.

Unsure of your circumstances, how you got there or why you’re there, you struggle for a way out, but as He would have it, you’re unable to move! You’re stuck, for how long, only He knows, so you might as well get used to your new home. I know you don’t like it, but in order for you to “sprout” out, you’ve got to endure these conditions for a little while.

Pep up…..things are not as bad as they seem, but once you emerge, you’ll know why He kept you hidden for so long! Besides, anything of value takes time, and by no means are you a “rushed job”. Don’t allow the length of the process, to keep you from growing! I’m no “Green Thumb”, but one thing I do know, once the seed has been planted, it’s up to you to water it and see that it matures!

Until next time my NOTE takers!
