Not as bad as it seems

Are things really hard for you, or do you just give up to easily? At some point in our lives, we’ve all encountered some obstacles that we thought would surely “take us out”. While many chose to take those situations head on, a lot of people simply gave up. Trying was not an option and apparently neither was winning, so they did what any other timid person would do, quit! The most difficult thing to process, is that they somehow already determined the outcome, although they failed to start. This is the very reason why so many people haven’t been successful in life. Before they attempt to do anything, they quickly talk themselves out of it. “I can’t do this”. “That is too difficult to do”. “Man, that looks hard, so I’m not even going to try”. All of these overused excuses have to stop! We all have a lens in which we see through, so clean yours and you will see that things aren’t as bad as they seem, and if they are, it’s only because you made them out to be!

What if God got tired?

Jesus loves me this I know, regardless if I’ve been good or bad

But what if God was unforgiving and held me hostage to my past?

Unlike man, He gives us grace, favor and mercy, and is there when trouble calls

But what if God removed His hands from our backs and instead allowed us to fall?

He’s been our counselor, He’s been our doctor, protector, provider and friend

But what if God regretted the day He sacrificed His son’s life to pay for our sins?

He made a way when there wasn’t one, and brought us to and through life’s test

But what if God decided we wasn’t worthy of His blessings and gave us mediocre instead of the best?

He accepted us no matter if we were right or wrong, told the truth or were simply lying

But what if God refused to heal our bodies, even if we were sick or dying?

He’s performed miracles, raised the dead, and somehow made life worth living

But what if God adopted our selfish ways, and ultimately stopped giving?

Even in the eleventh hour, He’s right on time and never late

But what if God stood us up, and always made us wait?

Twenty-four seven He’s always on call, never sleeps or seem to rest

But what if God got tired of our problems, and left us to deal with our own mess?

Feels good to know my flaws are overlooked, but not me!

Discredited dreams

You’re excited! I mean, really, really excited and you want everyone to hear about it. You can barely contain yourself, because things are about to get “real”……..your dreams, that is. Until, you find out that what’s everything to you, is nothing more than a “fantasy” to someone else. In fact, they have a hard time believing “dreams do come true”, because they don’t have any. As a result of their unbelief, they will discredit your dreams, and consider them mere fairytales, because they know that rarely do they exist. Although you want them to share in your joy, they can’t find any. You see, those are your dreams and what you see for yourself, they don’t. So, don’t expect them to support your dreams when they can’t understand why you have them. In the words of my Therapist, “Giraffe’s can’t share their dreams with turtles, because they can’t see what you do”!

Remember, you have the ability to “see things far away”, and ever so often, you’ll find people trying to obstruct your view. Whatever you do, don’t let them “get in the way” of your dreams!

Unforgettable

I remember when I used to pray and cry for the things that I now have. I didn’t know where they were coming from or when I’d get them, but I always knew who was going to give it to me. #blessed

I remember the numerous evictions and being homeless and staying in hotels. Now, I’m trying to decide if I want to stay in an apartment or just buy a house. #appreciative

I remember what it’s like to go to bed hungry, because of very little food or none at all. Now, my struggle is no longer not having anything to eat, but knowing when to stop! #grateful

I remember using an old shopping cart from the community grocery store to push our dirty clothes to the laundromat, down the street. Now, I just go to my room and push my hamper down the hall to the laundry room. #thankful

I remember not having any clothes to wear or re-washing the shirt I had worn just the previous day, so that I could have something to wear to school. Now, I stand in my closet for 30 minutes to an hour or so, thumbing through, trying to find something to wear (only to change again, and again and again). #options

I remember when I thought I’d never be able to talk about my struggles. Yet, here I am trying to help you get through yours. #hopeful

Although I’ve been through a lot, I will never take for granted what God has done for me and how far He has brought me. You’re struggling now, but very soon, you’ll be sharing your unforgettable story!

The struggle is real, but so is God

For every problem you have, all it takes is one mustard seed

There is no requirement to obtain His blessings, except you have to believe

Worrying is heavy and can weigh you down, but God will pick you up

What you’re about to receive is a result of His power and has nothing to do with luck

The pain you feel is unbearable, but He’s going to take it all away

To you it might take forever, but to Him it’s only a day

Your patience leaves a lot to be desired, but His timing is perfect and never late

The struggle is real, but so is God, all you have to do is activate your faith

Just so you’ll know

Anything is possible………………………………………………………..even if it doesn’t look like it

Just because you see dark clouds…………………………..doesn’t mean you should expect rain

People will purposely turn you away…………………………..not knowing it’s in the right direction

Those you love will try to hold you back……………………….but you’ve got to be brave and just let go

I can’t tell you that tough times won’t come……………………………….but I can say they won’t always last

It doesn’t matter who finishes first………………………………………………………………as long as you cross the line

It may take years before you see progress………………………………………………but it only takes a minute to start

If your dreams have yet to come true……………………………………..it’s only because you’re still sleeping on them
