Hello, I’m Deetra La’Rue

Founder of Notes by La’Rue, your source for all things inspiration, motivation, and encouragement. My blog is founded on the premise that God’s word gives people hope and I aspire to use His word to change lives one NOTE at a time.

  • Something great

Life has proven to be easy for some and difficult for others. No matter how difficult it may be for you, don’t allow it to keep you from turning your life into something great. You are the narrator; so you can change your story at any time. However, don’t mirror your life after others because we have enough carbon copies in this world. We need uniqueness. We need greatness. We need extraordinary. But what we really need is you!

  • Guarded Mind

The mind is arguably the most powerful thing we possess and probably the most influential. No matter its strength, we’ve seen it be manipulated, changed, and ruined. Words especially are the most impactful. Because of its fragility, one minute you’re up and down the next. We need to be very guarded with what we put in and what we let out. Don’t let your corruptive thoughts lead to destructive ways. Use your mind to create great things, not chaos!

There’s power in the mind; however, don’t let it overpower you!

  • Arriving Soon

I’m expecting two packages within the next couple of weeks, that I’ve been waiting on for a while now. Thankfully I have the luxury of being able to track them to see where they are in the shipping process. As I watched the movement of my packages from the day they were ordered to the date they were promised to me, God gave me this word. Many people have been given a promise by Him, but He hasn’t revealed the delivery date. They’re upset and frustrated because they can’t track it, nor does He appear to give them any information regarding receiving it. All they’ve been told is to get excited and wait in expectancy because it’s making its way to them, yet the idea of not knowing is only making them more anxious. They’re starting to feel as though the promise has been delayed indefinitely, given to someone else, or even worse, lost. However, God wants you to know the promise is still good. He’s not given it to anyone else because your name is on it. It’s not lost; it’s in transit and you are going to receive it at its appointed time.

Stop moping and keep hoping that it’ll be arriving soon!

  • Limited Abilities

Most of my frustration is created by me. I upset myself quite frequently when I can’t do something on my own no matter how much I exert myself. I’ve always viewed myself as Superwoman and thought there was nothing I couldn’t do, until I realized I couldn’t do it. Although strong, I realize my power is limited. I understand how powerful God is and rather than try to force things I can’t control, I surrender all to Him, which happens to be one of my favorite spiritual hymns. Because I’ve chosen to place my faith and trust in God and not my own abilities, I know that He will work everything out for my good far better than I can. I’m not sure if any of you have ever felt like Superman/Superwoman but I want you to know that even you have limitations. Instead of overstepping your boundaries by thinking you can handle what was intended for God, just surrender all to Him. If you don’t, He will make you relinquish control either by choice or force.
