This weather has been all over the place lately, and I’m starting to wonder if we’ll see spring anytime soon. While I do love the colder weather, I also long for warmer days, but not too warm. I guess you can say summer is not my favorite! I anticipate and look forward to the birds chirping and beautiful flowers blooming, and so do weeds. Those silent k*llers will take over your garden and destroy everything in it, if you don’t get rid of them. The same can be said for our lives. We’ll have people we associate ourselves with, are related to, have relationships or friendships with, that will damage us if they go undetected. If we don’t pull them up soon and leave them longer than they should be around, they could have a negative impact on our lives and growth, and bring about hazardous thinking or doing. However, God gives us discernment and most of all protection, so any weapon that forms to harm us won’t prosper.
I know it can be easier said than done, especially when we’ve known the person(s) for a long time and have been through a lot with them. We may feel bad or reluctant to pluck them out, but if you don’t they’ll damage the very seeds God placed inside of you and keep them from blooming. I’d rather end a friendship or relationship that could harm me as opposed to keeping someone around who isn’t healthy for me. Whichever you decide, take it to God in prayer. In the meantime, keep an out eye for your “garden.” Not everyone wants to see you growing and thriving.
