I think one of a homeowner’s worst nightmares is having termites. Although they love their home, I’m sure termites love it just as much as they do, if not more. We know the tiny yet pesty insects can destroy in weeks, what took months and years even to build. I’m not sure where they come from or their insatiable appetite for wood, but according to reports, it’s estimated that termites are responsible for billions of dollars in structural damage to homes every year. Granted you might not always see them, you do, however, see their destruction. Like termites, locusts could be the end of a farmer’s season, especially when they’ve damaged the crops before they can be harvested. I feel that a lot of you (myself included), spent years planting and watering seeds, while looking and anticipating growth, only to have a swarm of grasshoppers beat you to the harvest. Reeling from the aftermath, you’re left wondering if you’ll ever recover from the locusts.
I’m here to inform you, you will. Just as the homeowners were able to rebuild again, so will you. God promised in His word, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locusts has eaten…” (Joel 2:25). Everything that you’ve lost, will be given back to you, plus more. You may be experiencing a lack now, but soon, you’ll be sitting in excess. Don’t lose hope. Restoration and recovery are on the way! This time, the harvest will be faster than you can count (Amos 9:13-15).
