I sometimes feel that some people (including myself) think, how I, of all people, can speak and share God’s word especially when I’m not “qualified” or “righteous” enough to do so. If you’re one of those people, I’ll tell you what God laid in my spirit, when I asked Him the same. I was chosen, therefore, I don’t need to qualify or come without blemish, because He not only qualified me, but He called me. He knows I’m not perfect. He knows I’m not a Biblical scholar. He knows I haven’t been the most faithful. He knows I don’t “look the part,” but most importantly, He knows my heart. Even after knowing all of this, He still knew He could use me.
It reminds me of David’s anointing, when God sent Samuel to Jesse’s house to look for the next King. Immediately upon seeing the first son, Samuel thought he was it, but he was looking at what was on the outside, and not the inside. After making the mistake of trying to pour the oil on all the sons, He knew that none of them were King, but couldn’t leave, because he hadn’t released the oil. In walked David, a man after God’s own heart, and suddenly the oil began to flow. God had specifically hand-picked David to be King and fulfill His assignment. Obviously, because of his young age (he was a young boy), people thought he wasn’t qualified. However, he didn’t have to have a stellar resume, a bachelor’s degree, or come from a rich pedigree to reign, because God qualified him, the day he was anointed.
Stop allowing people to limit what you your abilities, because they don’t think you have the capabilities.
Until next time my NOTE takers!
