Hang on, we’re going somewhere

I absolutely love road trips, but if you really want to test my patience, let’s go on one together! When I’m traveling with others, particularly driving, the different personalities, attitudes, and preferences can be a bit much at times, but I endure it for a little while, so I can enjoy a trip of a lifetime. I’m a huge planner, so I have to know where I’m going ahead of time, otherwise, I won’t go. What’s even amazing is I’ll do the same when it comes to God. When I’m being led to follow Him, I request all the details, but the thing about God is, He barely reveals them. You’ll be lucky if He shares anything with you, because He knows if you knew ahead of time what His plans are and how long it’s going to take for them to come to pass, you might just say, “No thanks. I’ll pass.”

Instead, He’ll keep quiet, while keeping you in suspense. After seeing your impatience, nervousness, and fear, ever so often He’ll turn to you and say, “Hang on, we’re going somewhere,” as if you’re not going to question it. Which brings me to question, “Would you keep on riding, or would you try to takeover and drive?” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to vacate the passenger seat to get behind the wheel, only to be told I’m not equipped to. Even still, I try to find a way, because the one in which we’re going, doesn’t seem right. Nonetheless, I realize some destinations take awhile to get to, and no matter how fast or which way I go, it won’t get me there any quicker. Only He can!

Until next time my NOTE takers!
