Just what you asked for

I don’t care what job I have or how much I love it, I’m always telling God, “Thank you, for blessing me, but I really just want to write and travel the world, speaking, motivating, and encouraging people, especially hurt people. That’s all I ever want to do.” Then one day, it dawned on me, or God revealed to me, I should say, that I’m always asking for very little, when He has a whole lot for me. I was told, “If you’re not too careful, I’m going to give you just what you asked for.” That was a very awakening moment, because essentially, I was cutting myself short of all my blessings, because I was willing to settle for a small portion of them. It had nothing to do with me being afraid or fearful of not being able to handle what God has for me, but my hastiness to get what would satisfy me immediately, as opposed to a lifetime.

In other words, I was looking for contentment, but would’ve ended up harboring resentment, if God would’ve given me a portion, and not all. One thing I’ve learned, God doesn’t want us to be content with anything, when He can give us everything! He wants us to ask for more, because not only can He give it, He wants too! It’s time you ask big or not at all! Not only are you supposed to ask, but you’ve been instructed to keep on asking (Matthew 7:7, NLT). The next time you pray, it doesn’t matter how big, farfetched, unimaginable, or impossible it seems, because God can do exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ever think or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20, NLT). Now imagine that!

Until next time my NOTE takers!
