  1. Ms. La’Rue: My name is Randall “Scott” Parnell; and I am a Peer Tutor on the Troy University – Dothan Campus in Dothan, Alabama. Dr. Debora Pettway, is the Director of the Department of Student Support Services on the Troy University – Dothan Campus, and Dr. Debora Pettway is my Direct, and Immediate Supervisor.

A few years ago, you were the Guest Speaker at our Bi – Annual Luncheon and Award Recognition Event. I have purchased the first 2 books that you have written; and I have read both of your first 2 book 5 times each.

Most recently, as a Christmas gift this year (December, 2021), I asked for and received one of the newest books you have written entitled, “Surviving the Wait: How I Learned to Be Still and Wait on God.”

I am excited to get started reading this book. As a side – note, most often, I am a very impatient person, especially when I want something done right then and now, so I am excited on how I can learn to become a more patient person by waiting on God to direct the steps in my life.

    1. Mr. Parnell, of course I remember you! How could I not? Thank you, so much for the very sweet, inspiring and encouraging message. I’ve always been the encourager, but a lot of times, the encourager needs encouraging. There have been so many occasions, where I’ve questioned why I write, but it’s people like you, and those I know who needs uplifting, it’s what keeps me going, when I don’t feel like it. Thank you, for purchasing my books, and re-reading them again, and again, and again! I can only hope that you find what you are seeking in this latest book, and be patient and wait on God. It’s hard at times, (I still struggle with it), but over time, we’ll master it.
