Nothing is going right for me. No matter what I do, things still remain the same. I can’t get ahead, because I’m always behind others. Everyone is rich, successful, and thriving, and I’m over here struggling to survive. It appears everyone is doing good, but me. I can’t win for losing. Things never seem to go in my direction. For once, I wish I things would change for the better. Every time I turn around, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Things have been going downhill for me, and I just can’t see myself ever coming up again.

When I look back over all these statements I’ve made, I heard God say, “Deetra, the problem was never the view, it was always you.” From your perspective, you saw, obstacles, defeat, and struggles. Yet from Mine, I saw expansion, resilience, and opportunity. While you looked at things pessimistically, I saw them optimistically, because I knew you could overcome anything that came your way, but first you had to believe you could.

There’s no truer statement, than “seeing is believing.” If you see yourself headed for disaster, you’ll prepare for the impact, instead of preparing to bypass it. If you see the light at the end of the tunnel, you’ll be more prone to go towards it, than stay stuck in the darkness. Yet, if you see what God has for you, you’ll be inclined to see things from His perspective.

Remember, nothing is always as it seems. The next time you feel nothing is working out for you, take a moment, and adjust your view.
