Stick to the script

“Cut”, yells the director, as he begins to scold the actor on set. “What are you doing”? He questions, because you’ve seemed to forgotten your lines. The actor quips, “I’m sorry, but I changed the script a little, because I didn’t like the direction the story was going”. I think it’s safe to say, we’ve all played that “role” before. God is the Director and He has written a script for everyone’s life. Some more than others, refuse to follow it, because it’s not something they would’ve chosen for themselves. Rather than continue on with the story, they try to alter it, hoping for a better outcome. However, God’s will and purpose for our lives, is far greater than the ones we try to carve out for ourselves. No matter how many times we try to re-write our story, we can never change God’s ending.

I know a lot of you probably aren’t where you want to be in life (neither am I). “This is not what I want for myself” or “I can be doing something else”, is the infamous lines I always hear, and tend to say. You’re frustrated, tired and confused even, because the way you want to go, is not the direction in which you’re headed. “God, where are you taking me”? That’s the question I ask Him daily, along with, “Why is it taking so long for me to get there”? Anxious to reach the end, we’ll do everything within our power to get there fast. However, God’s timeliness is always perfect. Your story may have started out slow, or you’re stuck in a chapter you want to close, but all you’ve got to do is wait on God and “stick to the script”. I promise you, He always works things out in the “end”.

Until next time my NOTE takers!

Writefully yours,

Deetra La’Rue
