On a lighter note…

A colleague and friend of mine, sent me an email that contained a powerful message about four lit candles. One candle represented peace, and the others, faith, love and hope. Each one of them had a specific purpose, but they were unable to serve it, because no one had peace, they lacked faith and didn’t understand the importance of love, so they all lost their flame. However, the last candle that remained, was hope. Because of its unwavering power, it kept burning and was able to relight the others. We all have those four candles planted deep inside of us, but some people have allowed their hardships, life experiences and winds of doubt, to blow their flames completely out. They’ve lost their spark, and couldn’t set themselves ablaze, even if they wanted too. So many bad things has happened to them, therefore, they’ve become weak, hopeless and can’t find positivity in anything. They don’t see a way out, and their life has become very dim. Because they lack the ability to shine, you have to be the light in the midst of their darkness. You are their candle of hope! Whatever you do, never stop burning, because your fire can reignite their flame!

Freed

I used to be a b****, and a bad one at that!

I used to have a sharp attitude, and when I spoke, everyone got cut.

I used to hurt people because I was hurt, but I only did it, because my misery desperately needed the company.

I used to not be happy of others success, because I wasn’t experiencing any of my own.

I used to be angry and mean, because I didn’t know how to deal with my pain.

I used to be combative towards anyone who challenged me to change, because I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this”.

I used to lie and tell myself I was fine, when deep down inside, I was dying.

I “used” to be and do a lot things that were not nice, and there’s no excuse I could offer, that would justify my behavior, or take away the pain. However, I’ve matured and grown into a woman I didn’t think exist, let alone in me. I wish I could make right my wrongs, but since I can’t change the past, I chose to change me. No matter how difficult a person is, they are able to change, but they’ve got to want to. I’ve noticed that so many people are quick to hold others captive to their past transgressions, but how much longer are they to be held hostage? Admittedly, I was not the best person to be around, but today I’m so much better! Now that people know who I am, I wish they would free me from the woman I once was!

Hall Pass

Do you remember when you were in elementary school, and you had to ask the teacher for permission to leave the classroom, by obtaining a hall pass? It was the weirdest thing ever to me, but I understood why it was necessary. The hall pass temporarily authorized you to be outside of the classroom while it was in session, which otherwise would not have been permitted. There are a lot of people I can think of, who’ve given out way too many hall passes, myself included. Your co-worker gets a pass. Your friend gets a pass. Your sister gets a pass. Your brother gets a pass. Let’s not forget your boyfriend/girlfriend gets a pass too, and by the time you’re done granting wishes, yours will no longer be respected. People will use you and take advantage of you, if you allow them too. However, in order to keep them from overstepping their boundaries, you’ve got to create some. The rules you establish are set in place for a reason; to protect you! You can’t continue to give people a pass, because after awhile, they won’t feel they need it.

Defender behind me (I won’t fear)

The weapons will form, but they won’t prosper. You’ll be attacked, but you won’t be harmed. God serves as your shield and takes all the hits, so you won’t ever feel them. When people scheme to “take you out”, God derails their plans leaving them in dismay and questioning why you’re “still here”. People will fight you, but they won’t win. I don’t care who you are, your social status or how much money you have. Unfortunate things will happen to you, but fortunately, God will put you in a position to overcome them. No matter who or what you’re up against, you have a Defender behind you. He’ll always have your back, so there’s no need to fear!

The coast is clear

Timidity does not come from God, yet so many of us are debilitated by it. We can’t move forward, because we’re paralyzed with fear and the uncertainty of whether or not we’ll get what we’re after. Rather than step out on faith, we step back into the shadows of doubt, because we know what to expect while there. We strategize and proclaim that “this is the day”, yet we don’t do anything but allow it to pass us by. Let’s face it, we aren’t moving until we know what lies ahead. Luckily, God goes before us to make sure the coast is clear, before we proceed with His plan and will for our lives. He’s not going to allow us to walk into anything that wasn’t meant for us, or would bring forth harm. Don’t be afraid to fulfill your calling or dreams, because you’re afraid. Remember, God cleared and paved the way for us, so there’s no need to proceed with caution. He already took care of it, and He’ll take care of us too!

Happy Resurrection (Easter) Sunday

Good Morning wonderful people! I’m so thankful we arose today, because He arose over 2,000 years ago! I’m grateful for His sacrifice, love, grace, mercy and just knowing He’s always there, even when I feel alone. If you’re feeling lonely, don’t be. You’re in the presence of the best company you could ever have! Enjoy your day (this day), and remember these two words: Who and What. In order for us to be who we are, He had to do what was necessary!

Until next time my NOTE takers!

Today is a GOOD day (to love)

Happy Good Friday to those of you who celebrate this wonderful day! For those of you who don’t, I hope you will join me next year! On this day over 2000 thousand years ago, a man laid down His life, so that I could have mine. I am forever grateful and appreciative for God using his Son to take my charge, even though He had done nothing wrong. The act alone, is the purest form of love! God is love, so why can’t we love each other? It doesn’t matter one’s religious beliefs, denomination or choice not to believe, we all could use a little more love. So, get up, get out and spread some love, while I continue to spread His Word!

Not yours to keep

Why struggle, when you don’t have to? Why live in agony and pain, when you have someone capable of taking it all away? Why carry such heavy burdens, when God can lighten your load? Why worry about tomorrow, when you don’t know the outcome of today? You’ve grown weary from pleading for help, and because you’re tired of praying, you give up. But, have you given it over to God? In life, you’re going to be met with adversities and oppositions, but you’ve got to introduce them to Him, so they can see who’s bigger! When your problems can’t intimidate God, they come after you! I know you’re thinking, “I got this”, but how can you have something that you can’t even handle? You’re out of your lane and most definitely out of your mind, if you think you can do anything better than God. Let go, and stop holding on to things that are trying to destroy you. That can be very hard and challenging, because when He’s “slow to act”, we’re quick to take it back, and the pain comes back once again. Cast all your burdens upon God, because they’re not yours to keep! Those are His problems, let Him deal with it!

Wait on the promise

I don’t know which is worse, waiting on something to happen or waiting on someone to make it happen. Either way, I can be pretty antsy at times and hate to be kept waiting, especially considering the length of my wait time. The uncertainty of whether or not I’ll get what I want hoovers over my head like an aircraft, but when I look up and see who’s flying, my doubts starts to wither away. In past situations, I’ve moved too quickly, when I all I needed to do was slow down and “be still”. Besides, my hastiness never got me anywhere. I learned all to well, that if what you are seeking to do is not of God’s will, then it won’t get done! It doesn’t matter how bad you want it or how much you petition God for it, if He didn’t promise it, you won’t receive it, regardless of whatever it is. And sometimes, it’s best that we don’t get “it“. Getting what we want versus having what we need, makes all the difference in the world. I don’t care how impatient you are or how discouraged you get, thinking “it’s” never going to happen. It will, but all in God’s timing. His promises are still good! All we have to do is wait on Him!

Quarantined, NO chill

If you’re keeping up with the latest trends or sayings, I should say, then you’ll notice the newly saturated expression is “Quarantined and chill”, which is a comical spin on “Netflix and chill”. As I scroll through my Instagram newsfeed, that phrase is all I see, supported with a photo or meme of people rejoicing, because they are staying in the house doing absolutely nothing, which is the basis for my rant. Rather than use this time to work on their goals, create other forms of revenue or do anything constructive that will benefit them once God eradicates this pandemic, they’ve chosen to just “chill”. What infuriates me even more, is that people are treating the isolation from COVID-19 as a vacation, when they can’t even afford to “take ONE day off” from working on their goals. I’ll admit, I was one of the first ones to want to work remotely, but it has been nothing but a headache since I started. (Note: I am thankful to be gainfully employed, because I realize there are millions of people without jobs, so I don’t take anything for granted.)

However, although I am at home, I still MAKE time to fulfill my obligations for my 9-5 employer, and my other employer, ME! I refuse to allow a minute of my day to pass by, without me seizing the opportunity to do something to advance me in my career or life. I work hard now, not just so I can have fun, shop or travel the world, but because I want a better life for my future husband and children, so their lives won’t be a repeat of mine. My future has already “secured the bag”, because I used the time I have now to work on my goals, so I can live the way I want later. I’ll never invest more into a company, than I would on myself! For all the people that complained about never having “the time” to do what you wanted to do, because you were always in the office, away traveling for business purposes or constantly doing for others, what do you have to say for yourself now?

Being quarantined is not an excuse to be lazy! Get up from that bed/couch and go to WORK!

Until next time my NOTE takers!
