“Gimme, gimme, gimme”! Everybody wants a piece of you, but no one wants to “piece” you back together, especially after they break you. All they’re concerned about is getting what they can, and leaving you to figure the rest out, when rest is exactly what you need…….from them! Then too, you’re superwoman/superman, so you don’t need a break, because you’re strong and filled with strength, which is the very reason why they call on you so much. Because we want to help, we answer every time, knowing we shouldn’t “pick (them) up”. But, how many more times are we going to use the excuse that “They need me” or “What if it’s really an emergency, and I don’t answer”? Well, if it’s really an emergency, they should be calling 911 and NOT you!
One hard lesson I had to learn for 2019 to put into play for 2020, is that everyone can’t have access to you, because as long as they know you’re “open”, they’re going to walk right in and take advantage of you everytime. You’ve got to remember, just because you’re free, doesn’t mean you’re available! I used to get convicted everytime I told someone no. I didn’t know which I was more afraid of, them being angry at me, or me at myself. Certainly not the latter, I collapsed, and my guilt was the reason for it. I felt guilty, because I didn’t want to do something I didn’t want to do. That doesn’t make any sense, nor does our dedication and commitment to others. Last year, I was so far “run” down in the ground, that I thought I had died and been buried, but was too busy doing for others, that I missed my own funeral.
Well, one thing that I won’t miss, is being everything to everybody and nothing to myself! I don’t mind helping, but because of past misadventures, the situation has to absolutely call for it!
Don’t spend your year or time doing for others what they wouldn’t do for you, or themselves!
