“A little bit goes a long way”, is an expression I’ve heard of quite a lot. Regardless of the context it’s been used in, it still has the same meaning; “a little amount is just enough”. One of my favorite stories in the Bible, is about a woman who bled for years and prayed that she’d be healed. One day as Jesus was walking through a crowd, she reached out and touched “the hem of his robe”. Instantly, Jesus asked who touched Him, and when her identity was revealed, Jesus told her, because of her faith, she was healed.
How many of us can honestly say, we would’ve been so persistent and steadfast in our prayers, especially after suffering for that many years? In fact, many of us would probably have lost hope and most important, faith, within the first few months, after not having our prayers answered. Needless to say, I was one of those many. When I prayed and didn’t get immediate results, I immediately gave up. It wasn’t until I became consistent, persistent and faithful, that I began to experience the power of His “hem”.
I’m not sure what your situation is or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you this. You don’t have to be religious, go to church every Sunday or read your Bible everyday. All you need is a small amount of faith, and it will take you a mighty long way. Although the woman touched just a little part of Jesus’ hem, it was all she needed. Stop thinking you have to be a person of great stature, elite or distinction, in order for you to be blessed. Remember, your faith is all you need, even if you only have a “little”.
