You’re a clown!….and everyday, you feel like your life is one big circus. Granted there aren’t any tightropes or great, big rings of fire to jump through, but sometimes, it still feels as though you’re walking a mighty fine line. Because of the position you’re in, you always feel the need to “perform”. There are days you want to take time for yourself, but you can’t, because these people came to see you, so you’ve got to give them what they “want”. Besides, they’re depending on you, so you can’t fail them now.

Your ringmaster is selfish and inconsiderate, and although you speak of only one, there actually are many. They are comprised of students, family, friends and even strangers. Yes, strangers! You can’t help it, because innately, you’re just a caring person (probably a little too caring). I guess we can say, you want to appease them all, that’s why you try to be everything to everybody, except to yourself. We get it, you’re just downright foolish. However, we can call you whatever we’d like, but we know you’re not selfish, they are!

Are you tired yet? Do you want to quit, but can’t, because you’re “in demand”? When does the show ever end? When the people stop coming? Or once the curtain calls, and by curtains, I mean the “final” ones. It feels good to be wanted and needed, but don’t ever allow the demands of life and people, to get in the way of doing what’s best for you! I know you want to be heroic, but instead of trying to always save others, use some of that energy to take care of you!
