“You’re too confident”……
“You’re too smart”………
“You’re too ambitious”……
“You’re too hard-working”….
“You’re just too much”!
Ever felt like you had to change your identity, all because someone couldn’t “identify” with you? Better yet, have you stopped loving the things that make up you, in order to be acceptable and pleasing to others? If you have, we’ve wasted a lot of time. However, for those of you who haven’t, I admire (and once needed) your strength. I went through a period of trying to be “socially acceptable” and then most regrettably, “people acceptable”. But, in the end, the person I had become, was NOT acceptable to me! When I found my strength, I lost others’ opinions and standards of me. Just because someone feels a certain way about you, doesn’t mean you have too! Besides, I will never stop being who I am, just because someone else can’t handle it!
